Safari Day by Day

Touching Down in Kenya

Arriving in a foreign country can be intimidating, which is why we'll guide you through each step of the process. As soon as you de-plane in Nairobi, our airport concierge will meet your group at the arrival gate and guide you to baggage claim and expedite you through customs. Once out of the airport, your bags will be loaded into a private shuttle where you'll make the 2 hour journey to your first resort and wellness center - Maleway Mooring. International flights to Nairobi typically land late at night, so you'll enjoy a comfortable night sleep as soon as you're checked into the resort.

Day 2

After breakfast, your driver will take you back to Great Rift Valley Country Club for a second round of golf. KGS will facilitate a mini tournmant with closest to the pin and long drive prizes. You will enjoy a late lunch and prizegiving ceremony at the clubhouse, then depart for Crescent Island on Lake Naivasha, one of the largest lakes in Kenya. Your group will then enjoy a guided boat safari to watch hippos, waterbuck, and thousands of unique bird species. The boat will drop you off at Crescent Island where you be guided on a walking safari. You'll stroll alongside giraffe, wildabeast, zebra, warthog, gazelle, ostrich, and other African animals. A mobile bartender will host a cocktail hour on the island, among the animals as you watch the sunset. You'll then be escorted back to Malewa Mooring for dinner and entertainment.

Day 4

The camp staff will gently wake you before daybreak with hot coffee or tea for a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the plains. You'll be flying over massive herds of animals as the sun crests the horizon, taking in the unadulturated scerenity of the wild Kenyan landscapes. From this birds eye view, you'll stretch your eyes for miles across the vast savannah landscapes and be captured by nature's beauty. When you land, you'll enjoy a bush breakfast, preparred in the wild while surrounded by animals (don't worry, there will be armed guards for your protection). The rest of the day will be spent animal watching, playing games, relaxing at the camp, and enjoying the safari. After dinner, local Maasai entertainers will put on a special tribal song and dance show that has been passed down generationally for hundreds of years.

Day 6

After enjoying breakfast at the resort, your driver will take you to Muthaiga Country Club, Nairobi's oldest and most prestigious golf course. This track often hosts European Tour events and is sure to impress even the most well-traveled golfers. After the round, you and your group will be escorted to the Giraffe Center where you'll can interact with adult and baby giraffes. You'll be able to feed, pet and experience giraffes up close and personally. From the giraffe center, the evening is open to several possibilites. At this point you may be in need of some R&R around the resort pool, or perhaps a chill evening at a coffee bar or brewery. If you'd prefer to stay active, there's a ton of activites, bars, shopping, site seeing, and more available in Nairobi and your concierge can help you organize an incredible city night. You will have a dedicated driver to take you anywhere you need to go. 

Day 8

On your 8th day, your private driver will take you to Vipingo Ridge Country Club, a course built along the Kenyan coastline with ocean views, breathtaking scenery, and African wildlife. After the round, you'll enjoy a scenic lunch in the clubhouse. The afternoon will be spent back at the villa with a veriety of activities and options from snorkeling to scuba diving, jet skis, camel rides, and more. As much or as little activity as you want is on the menu. For dinner, you'll have reservations on the at Ali Babour's cave, a candelit dinning experience in a natural coral cave, historically used as a smuggling post. 

Day 10

Day 10 will vary depending on your groups travel plans back home. All international flights depart Kenya from the Nairobi airport, so transportation back to Nairobi will be organized for you. Once back in Nairobi, there will typically be several hours before your departing flight. You'll have access to an airport hotel so you can re-pack, freshen up, and prepare for your trip home. Private drivers will take you to a restauarant, shopping mall, bar, spa, or wherever you might want to go in Nairobi prior to your flight, depending on how much time you have. 

 

Day 1

Your first morning in Kenya will be all about rest and recovery. Resort staff will welcome you with house-roasted coffee, fresh squeezed juice, and a gourmet breakfast. Malewa Mooring sits on 5 acres of pristine riverfront - the perfect place to unwind. You can enjoy light nature walks, dips in the river, a veriety of lawn games, a massage, or golf games around the chipping green. After lunch, your driver will take you to your first golf round for an early afternoon tee time at Great Rift Valley Country Club. Here you will golf alongside zebra, warthog, gazelle, monkeys, and other african animals. Drinks and snacks are provided on the course. Each member of your group will be assigned a caddy who will carry your bag, clean your clubs, and help you with shot selection and green reading. After the round, your driver will escort you back to Malewa Moorning for "Chai Time and Sundowners" a local tradition and the Kenyan version of Happy Hour. Dedicated bar staff will serve beer, wine, cocktails, sodas, juices, really whatever you want into the night.

Day 3

After an early but rejuvinating breakfast, you and your group will begin the journey to the Maasai Mara, one of the greatest safari destinations in the world. Upon arrival, you'll be checked into a luxury tented camp and served lunch and refreshments. Once settled in, private guides will take you on an afternoon game drive in a luxury safari overlander to search for the Big 5 - Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, and Rhino. You'll enjoy sundowners among the animals and head back to the camp for dinner. You may want to get to bed early as the next day is an early start!

Day 5

On day 5, you'll enjoy yet another nutritious breakfast and begin your journey towards Nairobi, Kenya's capital city. Nairobi is home to several pristine golf courses, one of them being Karen Country Club at which you'll be staying. After checking in and getting settled, you'll walk over to the first tee and play 18 holes at the challenging yet beautiful course. After the round, your driver will take you into the city to dine at the Talisman, an elegant gastrolounge boasting an upscale take on local flavors. The evening will be open to several options, whether you want to experience Afrobeat nightlife, shopping, or to relax at the resort, Nairobi has it all.

Day 7

On Day 7 you'll begin the third leg of your vacation, the beach! Your driver will take you to the airport in the morning where you'll board a small jet. The hour and a half flight to Mombasa is efficient and painless. Once there, you'll be greeted by the tropical paradasie that is the Kenyan coast. Think white sandy beaches, coconuts, snorkeling, and of course, golf. Your first day at the coast is all about getting settled in to your villa. Your group will be checked into a private beachfront chateau with a full staff of bartenders, maids, private chefs, and a butler to take care of all your groups wants and needs. You can enjoy the afternoon on the beach, schedule a massage, and sip cocktails as the sun sets. 

Day 9

Another round of golf is on the cards for the 9th day, this time at one of Kenya's oldest coastal courses. Nyali Golf Club is the perfect blend of challenge and beauty, with a unique 9th hole shack serving the most refreshing limeade in the world. After golf, an afternoon glass bottom snorkeling trip is in order. Local guides will provide all the necessary gear and take you to a sandbar where you can find colorful starfish, play games, and relax in the crystal clear waisthigh water. Your dinner reservations will be on the Tamarind Dhow, a handcrafed mohogony sailing ship built that serves exquisite seafood and cocktails. As your final night in Mombasa, local acrobats will put on a private show back at the villa. Kenya Golf Safari staff will present each of you with a photo and video album curated over the course of trip so you'll have plenty of high quality media to share on your socials.
